The Royal Canadian Mint has unveiled a new collectible gold coin in the shape of a Ukrainian pysanka. The issue is dedicated to the traditional art of pysanka. This was reported on the Royal Canadian Mint website.

The Pysanka Pure Gold Coin 2026 is made of 99.99% pure gold and has a face value of 250 Canadian dollars (8,000 UAH). It has an egg-shaped design, reminiscent of a traditional Ukrainian pysanka.

According to the Royal Canadian Mint, the coin's design is inspired by traditional Ukrainian pysanka patterns.

“This egg-shaped coin, engraved with intricate traditional Ukrainian motifs, celebrates the art of pysanka and the enduring symbolism of renewal and hope,” the website says.

At the center of the ornament is a stylized flower surrounded by plant motifs and geometric elements symbolizing life, harmony, and rebirth. The obverse of the coin features a portrait of King Charles III of Great Britain and Canada.

The coin has a limited circulation and is issued in a small series for collectors. The “Pysanka” coin series has been issued in Canada since 2016 and is dedicated to the Ukrainian cultural heritage preserved by the country's large Ukrainian community.
