The Ukrainian military will soon receive Canadian AIM missiles. This was reported by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense on Friday, February 6.

“Canada will transfer AIM missiles to Ukraine to strengthen air defense and counter cruise missiles. The weapons are already in the process of being transferred to Ukraine,” the statement said.

It is noted that the issue of further defense support was discussed during a conversation between Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and Canadian Minister of National Defense David McIntyre. The Ukrainian side thanked Canada for its consistent and effective assistance to the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

Canada's contribution to the PURL initiative was noted separately. The latest contributions under the program were decisive in repelling massive Russian air attacks. Ukraine expects PURL support to continue throughout the current year.

The parties also discussed an agreement to promote the production of unmanned aerial vehicles. The countries have significant prospects for industrial cooperation between the Ukrainian and Canadian governments and companies. In particular, Ukraine is interested in cooperating with Canadian companies in the field of drone control.
