A new service for Ukrainians in Canada is now available at the “Document” State Enterprise center in Toronto: the forwarding of previously issued documents. This refers to the ability to pick up a passport at the Toronto Passport Service that was originally issued at another “Document” State Enterprise center or at a branch of the State Migration Service of Ukraine.

In practice, this means that applicants are no longer required to travel to the exact location where the document was originally processed. If a passport has already been issued in Ukraine, it can now be transferred to Toronto and picked up at the local center. For many Ukrainians in Canada, this can significantly simplify the process of obtaining completed documents and reduce the number of unnecessary trips and organizational challenges.

The Toronto branch of the Passport Service is located at 97 Six Point Rd, Etobicoke. The official website states that appointments for document processing are by appointment only, while the issuance of completed documents is handled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Interestingly, when the Passport Service launched in Toronto in November 2025, the official list of services included only the issuance and renewal of ID cards, the issuance and renewal of foreign passports, and the exchange of passport books for ID cards. The service for forwarding previously issued documents was not mentioned in the list at that time, so the current announcement effectively signifies an expansion of the services available to Ukrainians in Toronto.

For those planning to take advantage of this new opportunity, it is important to follow the center’s official announcements, as that is where practical details regarding the application process, document retrieval, and applicant requirements are published.
