Calgary Career Fair & Training Expo Canada is an in-person job fair and educational/training program fair where employers, recruiters, career services, and educational institutions gather in one place to communicate directly with candidates. The event is aimed at people who are looking for a job, planning a career change, want to improve their qualifications, or find a training program (diploma/certificate) that will help them enter the job market faster.
When and where
- Date: Thursday, January 29, 2026
- Time: 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- Location: BMO Centre – Stampede Park, 20 Roundup Way SE, Calgary, AB T2G 2W1
Who is this event for
- Active job seekers who want to talk to recruiters in person and apply on the spot.
- Newcomers and immigrants who want to understand the local job market, find support programs, and get a foothold in a profession.
- For those who are considering upskilling/reskilling and are looking for training programs, certifications, or diplomas that will actually increase their chances of finding employment.
What will be at the exhibition
- Meetings with employers and recruiters: you can approach the stands, ask questions about vacancies, requirements, schedule, pay, hiring process, leave your resume, or arrange for further contact.
- Networking: a quick way to “showcase” yourself to hiring managers and make useful connections.
- Training/Career College Zone: training and career organizations participate — you can find out which programs provide practical skills, how long the training lasts, and what you need to enroll/apply.
Who are the participants (examples from the list on the event page)
The list of exhibitors is subject to change, but the event page already includes:
- CBI Health (Career Pivot employment programs for people aged 45+ and SupportABILITY for people facing barriers to employment)
- Bow Valley College (career-oriented programs in business, technology, health, etc.)
- Royal Canadian Navy, HMCS Tecumseh, Royal Canadian Air Force (information about career opportunities and roles)
- CLI College of Business, Health & Technology, New West College (diploma/certification programs)
- Africa Centre (mentions a leadership program for young people aged 16–30)
How to prepare to get the most out of it
- Bring several copies of your resume (or QR code/link to PDF) and a short 20–30-second elevator pitch: who you are, what you can do, what kind of role you are looking for.
- Come early (10:00–11:30 a.m.) — it's usually easier to talk to people without queues.
- Make a list of 5–10 stands you want to visit first and prepare 2–3 questions (about requirements, start date, schedule, training/certification, next steps).
- After the conversation, ask for contact details (LinkedIn/business card) and send a short thank-you message on the same day.
