Fans of exotic animals, nature, and family events are invited to the Calgary Reptile Expo 2026—one of the largest reptile and amphibian expos in Western Canada. The event will take place on October 24–25 at the Genesis Centre and will bring together breeders, collectors, educational organizations, and exotic animal enthusiasts from across Alberta and neighboring provinces.
Visitors will be able to see hundreds of reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates, and learn about various species of snakes, lizards, geckos, turtles, frogs, spiders, and other exotic terrarium inhabitants. The exhibition will also feature tropical plants, animal care equipment, terrarium decorations, specialized foods, accessories, and other products for owners of exotic pets.
Over the course of two days, guests will have the opportunity to talk with professional breeders, experienced terrarium keepers, and experts; get advice on animal care; and learn more about responsible reptile care and current trends in the world of terrarium keeping. The event will be of interest to both experienced owners of exotic animals and those who are just considering getting such a pet.
The expo is organized by The Alberta Reptile and Amphibian Society (T.A.R.A.S.)—a nonprofit organization that has been working since 1984 to promote knowledge about reptiles and amphibians, conduct educational programs, and support conservation initiatives. All proceeds from ticket sales go toward funding these programs.
