Опис події

The Calgary Ukrainian Festival is a major two-day celebration of Ukrainian culture in Calgary, which will mark its 16th edition in 2026. The event will take place on June 6–7, 2026, at the Acadia Recreation Complex, located at 240 90 Ave SE, Calgary, AB. On Saturday, the festival will run from 10:00 AM to midnight, and on Sunday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The organizers position it as a vibrant celebration for the entire community, where visitors can experience Ukrainian culture through music, dance, art, costumes, and traditional cuisine.

The Festival’s Concept

The festival was created in the spirit of community, unity, and respect for Ukrainian immigrants who settled in Canada over 125 years ago. Its mission is to give guests the opportunity to get to know the rich Ukrainian heritage more closely and to preserve traditions passed down from generation to generation. For visitors, this is not just an entertaining event, but also a space where Ukrainian culture is presented as vibrant, modern, and open to everyone.

Festival Program

The festival program features stage performances, Ukrainian food, an arts and crafts fair, live demonstrations, activities for children, and a friendly atmosphere perfect for family outings. The official pages also specifically mention vendors, community tables, artisans, performers, and youth ambassadors, meaning the festival combines a concert program, a food section, a fair, and community life all in one space.

Festival “Zabava” / After Hours

A separate part of the event is the evening Festival “Zabava” / After Hours. The organizers describe it as a festive Ukrainian party after festival hours, featuring live Ukrainian music, a spacious dance floor, a Ukrainian dinner, beer, vodka, and a traditional festive atmosphere. The ticket page notes that Zabava is included in the price of the festival admission ticket.

Tickets and Admission Terms

Regarding admission, tickets can be purchased on-site. The cost for adults aged 13–64 is $10, for those 65+ is $5, for children aged 6–12 is $5, and children 5 and under get in free. The organizers also note that newcomers with CUAET have free admission on Saturday from 6:00 PM until closing. Payment is accepted in cash, debit, and credit cards.
