The Ukrainian community in Calgary invites everyone who cares to join a peaceful rally in support of Ukraine and the residents of the city of Oleshky, who continue to live under the constant threat of Russian shelling. The event is intended to remind people that a full-scale war is ongoing and that millions of Ukrainians face danger every day, losing their homes and loved ones.
Participants will gather to express solidarity with the civilians of Ukraine, honor the memory of those who have died, and draw the international community’s attention to the humanitarian consequences of the war. The organizers emphasize that silence should not become the norm, and that support for Ukraine remains extremely important.
The event is open to everyone, regardless of nationality. The organizers encourage people to come with family, friends, and acquaintances, to bring Ukrainian symbols, and to help spread the word about the event within the community.
Every person in attendance is another voice in support of those who cannot live in safety today. Together, the community aims to show that Ukrainians and their friends in Canada are not indifferent to the events in Ukraine.
