Second Wind | Special Film Screening | Calgary is a special screening of the Ukrainian documentary Second Wind, which will take place on May 9, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at Canyon Meadows Cinemas in Calgary. The event is presented by KAZKA ENTERTAINMENT as part of the film’s Canadian tour of special screenings.

The film Second Wind tells the story of five Ukrainian heroes: four veterans with lower-limb amputations and a female soldier who, after being wounded, set out to conquer Kilimanjaro. This documentary explores strength of spirit, recovery, re-examining the trauma of war, brotherhood, new purpose, and the ability to start life anew even after the most grueling trials.

The event in Calgary is not just a film screening, but also an opportunity to connect more deeply with the stories of people who have become symbols of endurance and resilience. Following the screening, a live Q&A session is planned for the audience with co-producer Oleksandr Pedan and the film’s protagonist, Vladyslav “Shatey” Shatil, during which attendees can learn more about the journey from injury to reaching the summit and ask their own questions.

The event’s charitable purpose gives it special significance. The organizers note that the screenings of Second Wind in Canada serve a charitable purpose, and proceeds from ticket sales and related charitable activities will go toward supporting the rehabilitation of Ukrainian veterans through programs of the Canada-Ukraine Foundation. Thus, attending the event is not only a cultural experience but also a tangible contribution to helping Ukraine’s defenders.
