Online / Remote

Опис події

On July 18–19, 2026, Schott’s Lake Conference & Resort near Sundre will host Kupala Fest—a two-day celebration of Ukrainian culture, music, and ancient Kupala traditions.

The festival will take place outdoors on the picturesque shores of the lake. Guests can look forward to live performances, the traditional lighting of the Kupala bonfire, dancing under the starry sky, floating wreaths on the water, creative workshops, children’s activities, and the opportunity to stay in the tent city.

Kupala Fest was created as a gathering place for Ukrainian families, friends, and the entire community. Here, you can take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, spend time in nature, meet new people, and experience together the atmosphere of one of Ukraine’s most romantic holidays.

Grand Concert and Live Music

The music program will be one of the festival’s main highlights.

Over the course of two days, guests can enjoy live performances and a grand concert. Ukrainian music will create a festive atmosphere by the lake and bring together visitors of all ages.

In the evening, the program will continue with a DJ set and open-air dancing. Guests will be able to dance under the starry sky, enjoy the summer evening, and spend time with friends and loved ones.

Kupala Bonfire

One of the festival’s central events will be the traditional lighting of the Kupala bonfire.

The bonfire is one of the main symbols of the Ivan Kupala holiday. It represents purification, light, the power of nature, and the beginning of a new stage in life.

Lighting the fire together will create a special atmosphere and serve as a moment that unites all festival participants.

Floating Wreaths on the Water

Festival guests will be able to take part in one of the most famous Kupala traditions—floating wreaths on the water.

In the evening, wreaths with candles will appear on the lake, creating a magical scene on the water. This tradition is associated with dreams, love, hopes, and wishes for the future.

The wreath-floating ceremony will be one of the most beautiful and emotional moments of Kupala Fest.

Wreath-Weaving Workshops

Before the evening ceremony, visitors will have the opportunity to create their own traditional Kupala wreath.

During the workshops, participants will be taught the basics of wreath-weaving and guided in designing their own creations.

You can keep your finished wreath as a souvenir or float it on the water during the festive ceremony.

The workshops are suitable for both adults and children and will be a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Ukrainian traditions.

Wishing Tree

A wishing tree will be set up on the festival grounds.

Every guest will be able to write down their dream, wish, or important thought and hang it on the tree.

This activity will be a symbolic part of the festival, as Kupala Night is traditionally associated with the belief that dreams come true, the search for happiness, and the special power of nature.

Kids’ Area

Kupala Fest will be a family-friendly festival, so the organizers will set up a large kids’ area.

Children can look forward to:

  • entertainers;
  • games;
  • creative workshops;
  • outdoor activities;
  • gifts;
  • surprises;
  • festive entertainment.

Parents will be able to enjoy the festival program while their children participate in safe and fun activities.

Outdoor Recreation

The festival will take place at Schott’s Lake Conference & Resort—a natural setting by the lake near Sundre.

Guests can relax on the shore, spend time outdoors, listen to music, and enjoy the summer scenery.

The festival atmosphere will be enhanced by candlelight on the water, a Midsummer bonfire, Ukrainian songs, children’s laughter, and dancing under the open sky.

Campground

For those who want to spend both days at the festival and fully immerse themselves in its atmosphere, a campground by the lake will be available.

Spending the night outdoors will allow you to take your time heading home after the evening program and continue relaxing the next day.

Visitors should prepare the necessary camping gear, comfortable clothing, and items for possible weather changes in advance.
