The Calgary International Blues Festival 2026 is the 22nd annual international blues festival in Calgary, taking place from July 30 to August 2, 2026, at The Confluence, 750 9 Ave SE. The series of events kicks off on July 27 and includes concerts, workshops, and special free events, culminating in four days and nights of non-stop music on the MainStage.

Festival Atmosphere and Format

The festival is positioned as a family-friendly event with a warm, relaxed atmosphere and world-class music. Guests can look forward not only to a packed concert lineup but also to additional festival activities: a vibrant arts market featuring local crafts, food trucks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, festival merchandise, artist autograph sessions following performances on the main stage, and an open-air relaxation area. Separately, the festival’s tourism and official pages note that a site-wide liquor license is in effect on the premises, and pre-festival events include a kickoff bash, workshops, Walk Through Blues History, and Blues at Noon.

Festival Participants

The organizers have already announced the lineup for 2026. Among the confirmed performers are Angel Forrest, Big Dave McLean, Bob Corritore, Bob Stroger, David Gogo, Dexter Allen, Kenny “Blues Boss” Wayne, the Russell Jackson Band, Johnny Max, Cousin Harley, and other artists from the Canadian and international blues scene. After the main stage wraps up, the festival week continues with the Twilight Blues Series night concerts, which take place in a more intimate setting and are intended for an adult audience.

Schedule and Tickets

According to official information, on Thursday and Friday, the festival gates open at 4:00 PM, and the music program runs from 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM. On Saturday and Sunday, entry to the grounds begins at 12:00 PM, and performances run from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Practical Information

From a practical standpoint, the festival is designed for a large audience: you can arrive by public transit, bicycle, or car; there are bike racks, limited parking, first aid stations, a lost children’s area, and basic accessibility for people with disabilities. Organizers allow attendees to bring their own festival chairs with short legs, recommend bringing water bottles and using the water refill stations, but ask that you do not bring pets.
